My List of Invisible Pranks

Imagine one day you wake up and look in the mirror and there is no one looking back at you. Some people might use their invisibility for bad things or they might not use at all, not me though. If I was invisible for one day I would pull the craziest pranks anyone has ever seen.

Prank 1: You know the game where you tap someone on the shoulder and then try to get on the side they don't look at? I love that game even while still being visible, but imagine if they could look right at me but not see me. I would find someone and just sit behind them tapping their shoulder over and over again. They would eventually get mad and it would be hilarious to just watch them rage. Then I'd find another person.

Prank 2: My next prank would be floating items. You could carry stuff and it would look like its floating in mid-air. The thought I had would be pick up the hand sanitizer and just walk around the classroom with it. It would freak people out first off but even more fun you could squirt people with it. Like as someone walks up to grab it out of "mid-air" it suddenly aims at them and fires. That would really freak people out, they would think the hand sanitizer had a mind of its own but in reality it would be my crazy, cooky mind behind it.

Prank 3: I love to scare people, I do it all the time. One of the worst things is when you have a whole scare prank setup and then they see you. Well they can't see you if you're invisible. I could stand there beside the door in a classroom with a stack of papers on the closest desk. As someone walks in the door I fling the whole stack of paper at the person. It would look like a wall of white coming right at you out of nowhere. If you really wanted to freak the person out you could write "HAHA" on each paper.

Prank 4: You know those cartoons where a student sneaks into the office and plays something funny over the loud speaker? Well I could do that but instead of sneaking in I could walk right in the front door. I could have something funny recorded or use my phone and put it right up to the microphone. Could you imagine hearing the beep of the loudspeaker and then instead of an announcement you hear, "Deez Nuts!" I could repetitively do that until they eventually had to hold the microphone in their hand for the rest of the day.

Prank 5: It's really hard to read without lights. Imagine you're sitting in class and the lights just turn off. The teacher or someone else would walk over and turn the lights back on and after a quick discussion on how "that was weird" they would go on with the day. Well imagine the lights turn off again, and again, and again. Every time the lights are turned on they are turned off right away. This is would only be freaky but very hard to teach in. They would eventually complain and when the lights are checked out they would be perfectly fine. I could go around to each classroom and do that.

As you can see I would thoroughly enjoy myself being invisible. The teachers, school administrators, and my fellow students might not. They would only have to put up with that for one day. Possibly the hardest part of all these pranks would trying not to laugh.

Teen Dance!

The Timber Ridge golf course is hosting a Teen Dance for everyone who wants to come ages 16 through 20. The dates for the rest of the 2012 year are 9/28 10/19 11/9 11/23 and 12/28. The cost to get in is eight dollars, and that includes an appetizer bar. There will be a live DJ, great music, and dancing. The dance is from 9 PM to Midnight. Teen night at Timber Ridge!

             The Timber Ridge golf course in Bluffton, IN is holding a series of Teen Dances for people ages 16 through 20. Rock out at the Street Fair!

The 2012 street fair started on September 18th and went until the 22nd. There is a new ride this year, but they took out the Fireball. The new ride is The Freak Out. For the ones who are adventurous you will like this ride. From experience it made my stomach twist and turn and when I got off it was hard to walk, but it was really fun while it lasted. On Wednesday, Campus Life had their traditional scavenger hunt.

This scavenger hunt consisted of what they called a man hunt. The participants were given a picture of a person that works in a booth or a ride at the fair. They had to go find that person and take a picture with him/her and go back to the court house and show Cheris. Then they had to go find two pink flamingos with Campus Life bracelets on and take pictures of them. The winners of this challenge were Molly Stoffel, Paul Renner, and Thomas Charles.

8th Grade Football Quotes

The 8th grade football team is having a good season bonding with the new 7th graders. Evan Huffman stated "Our team puts in a lot of effort to each play.
We don't have a lot of talent on the team but we make up for it in each play.
The 7th graders are a good team to watch and are only getting better as the season goes. I can't wait to be in the high school and play for my high school team."

Austin Shuler quoted "The boys are left home to play video games and sit on the couch! The real men come to play their hardest and leave everything on the field... We do our best to show what were made of... Just because we don't win doesnt mean we don't have the talent."

Uriah DeWeese quoted "My favorite memory of this season would be playing in the rain. When we play in the rain we slide in mud and have a good time. One of my goals for this year is to get five tackles each game. One thing I have to say for the coaches is that they help make us better as a team and teach us new techniques. This year has been a good season, bonding with my team and the seventh graders."

Mason Page stated "This season is going okay. My team could be doing better. The coaches are pretty cool, I couldn't pick a favorite out of them. My favorite memory of football would be scoring my first touch down. The positions I play are quarter back and sometimes on defense I play defensive end. I'm looking forward to my freshman year."

Football Field Drought

Unfortunately this year we cannot play on our home football field due to the unstable grass. The field was re-crowned in the spring so the water wouldn't stand on the field and would drain off. The new grass was planted shortly after, and due to the drought the grass didn't grow back as well as we thought it would. The field as of right now is just a bunch of weeds. We are killing off the weeds  within the next week or two the field will look worse then it already does.

All of our "home" games will be played at Bluffton or Eastbrook. Please try to keep the stands clean and pick up all of your trash. We give a big thanks to both facilities for letting us use their fields.
We are sorry to say that there will be NO true home games this football season.

As a school we are trying to make every good moment of this football season last. Thank you seniors for being very cooperative. We hope to see a lot of good games and wish you all good luck.

Raiders First Home Game

Our varsity team leaves the field after a hard fought battle against Shenandoah. The boys fought hard the whole game. Grant Harris had his first sack of the season in the third quarter. Touchdowns were scored by: Kennan Mooberry, Jake Roush, and Cole Preston. The boys showed a lot of enthusiasm as Clay Huffman was getting the players pumped along the side lines. The final score was 25-41.

Mr. Thomas's Flip Class

Mr. Thomas's 3rd period Algebra 1 class has decided to do a Flip Class Room. A flip class is where the students go home and watch the lesson at home, then come to school the next day and do their homework in class. The benefit of the flip class is to get more help on homework and for Mr. Thomas to answer any questions that need to be answered.

This gives Mr. Thomas more one on one time with each individual student. Mr. Thomas believes that this will benefit the students. We believe we will see the students' grades rise because of past experiences. Mr. Thomas believes that this will help with better ECA scores.

Eventually Mr. Thomas wants to do this with all of his classes. In order to do that the students must have access to a computer. If the students don't have a way to a computer they can watch the videos in Mr. Thomas's room. If they have a computer and don't have Internet the students must bring in a flash drive. Then Mr. Thomas will download the video for each night to the flash drive.

Training Wheels

Everyone who has rode a bike, probably started somewhere. We all have memories of falling off of our bike but who would have though that training wheels may be the cause of our skinned up hands and busted knees. It’s unclear when training wheels became popular, although historians suggest the early 1900s seem most likely. But it’s apparent why they became popular. They were an obvious solution to an obvious problem: How do you convince someone to climb onto something that is obviously going to fall over? So it isn’t surprising that aspiring riders wanted some greater stability, especially when bicycles were still an amazing sight.

Raves while on lunch break?

Lol what?

The Swedish are known for quite a few things, inventing Skype, the pacemaker, and many other awesome things, but recently, I read something that even cooler then those. Apparently they rave during their lunch breaks at work. Yep, some Swedish companies have big dance parties in the middle of the day. It all started in 2010 when 14 or so friends would dance their lunches away in their garage. They called it "Lunch Beat." Rumors of this spread around the underground of Swedish pop culture and it soon caught on. Now many popular venues and clubs offer midday fun. Most workplaces allow workers an hours to let loose and have fun and dub it "the most important hour of your week." There are even a list of rules that are kind of like the ten commandments of clubbing. 

It's interesting to see how differently people do things on the other side of the Atlantic.

Angry Chimp

When I go to the zoo, I always seem to hurry to the Elephants, the Zebras, and the chimps. Santino the chimp has gotten meaner by the day. The male chimp has continued to chucking zoo visitors with rocks and other weapons. While no one is watching, he is preparing for his next hit. He thinks like a military mastermind. He continues to hide his weapons in his hay until a group of unsuspecting visitors arrive. Scientists are overwhelmed with excitement but zoo keepers and visitors try to stay as far away from Santino as possible.

School Misspelling!

We all laugh about if a teacher or peer spells a simple word wrong but what if our school did it? And what if it wasn’t noticed for 9 YEARS! The Texas school was intending on the front sign to say “Sunrise-McMillan," but actually has "Sunrise-McMillian” this involving the lettering on the  school, printed signs, vinyl congratulatory signs, logos and even on Facebook. The lettering was changed on Monday. "You know how we say there's no 'I' in team?" teacher Jouet Dotson brainstormed. "We could say, 'Well, [at] Sunrise-McMillan, we're a team, so there is no 'I' in the last part of McMillan" So see even schools make mistakes too! But theirs are probably more embarassing.

Parkview Field is the sight of the Raiders 2nd Conference Win!!!

The Southern Wells Raiders took on the South Adams Starfires in a battle royal in the second ACAC game of the night. The Raiders got out to a quick lead early on, after the second inning the score was 3-1 Raiders on top. Seth Biberstine recorded the win for the good guys from the hill, holding the Starfires hitless through 5 1/3 innings. Solid Defense and timely hits were the key to the Raiders picking up the 2nd ACAC win of the year. The Raiders are currently 7-9 overall and 2-2 in the Conference. They are just over half way through the season and the future looks bright for the Raiders.

What's this about the zombie apocalypse?

With all this recent talk on social media sites, like Facebook, about the zombie apocalypse, talking about what you would do and where you would go, you can't help better "What would I do?" "Where would I go?" For me it all comes down to five questions.

1. Where would I go and why?

2. How would I arm myself? What weapon would I use?

3. How am I going to get supplies?

4. Am I going to try and survive alone or in a group?

5. Am I ready for Z-Day?

My answers are as follows:

1. I would attempt to gain access to a distribution center (DC) for Walmart or Kroger or some other big name store that sells groceries. Think about, I'm where they keep all of the supplies that go off to their many stores in the region. One person alone could survive at a DC for well over a year or two. Afterwards I would try to make contact with FEMA or the CDC as they will likely be the ones handling the containment of zombies.

2. I would arm myself with a Colt M4A1 Assualt rifle with a silencer, grenade launcher, 100 round magazine, ACOG sight (Advanced Combat Opitical Gunsight). For my sidearm I would have a Beretta M9 9mm Handgun and for a melee weapon I would keep an Army KA-Bar handy.

3. I've answered this in my answer to question one.

4. At first I wouldn't trust anyone, for obvious reasons, but eventually I might ask for the help of people but I would only travel with 2, maybe 3 other people.

5. I'd like to think so. Maybe not right now, but given time to prepare, I think I'd make it.

From Norwell to NFL

Chandler Harnish graduated from Norwell High School in 2007. He was selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the 7^th and final round of the 2012 NFL Draft. The last man picked every year is known as Mr. Irrelevant. Harnish will join the first overall pick Andrew Luck at Training Camp. Mr. Irrelevant has a week all to himself in California, which was started in 1976, just to do something nice for no reason. Harnish has been at Northern Illinois the past 4 years tearing it up, setting many School and National Milestones. Congratulations to Chandler on a great college career, and best of luck to make the best of his NFL years.

ECA Testing

ECA testing is up to bat before the “Big Break” for summer. Next week Algebra 1 and English 10 ECA testing is happening. So for all you people who haven’t hit the books yet better start! Remember you have to pass these tests to graduate and you don’t want to have to re-take them so my suggestion is don’t try and cram info down the night before the test make sure you do your assignments and review this week and weekend! Im not saying you have to do nothing but study (because you wont even if I did.) Just take 15-30 minutes to go over the topics you need help on. Lets just say these tests aren’t a walk in the park but as long as you study and stay on top of the work then you will do fine! Good luck fellow test takers.

Prom 2012!!!

This year, the prom was held at Timber Ridge Golf Course, and the theme was “Hollywood Premier”. The King and Queen were Lucas Miller, and Sadie Herr, who were joined on prom court by David Haigh, Clayton Hamilton, Seth Biberstine, Lillian Hartley, Kaitlin Bonewit, and Mallory Preston. All-in all it was a great prom to attend, and few people were there that didn’t have a smile on their face. Post Prom was held at the Gym, and the theme was “Medieval Times”, which included a drawbridge, and a jousting center. It was easy to stay busy, and everyone was handed $40 cash, and a commemorative “Prom 2012” mug as they walked out the door, at 2 a.m. Another year in the books, and another set of royalty enthroned for the next year.

Turning Signal Neglect

We all know distracted driving causes about 950,000 accidents a year, but there is a greater and more dangerous car crashing agent out there! This fiend causes more than 2 million car crashes a year! He has just know been revealed by studies that show people are not using their turn signals enough. That’s right more than half of the car accidents in America are due to lazy drivers or bad training, but this is a serious problem. Even if you are just turning onto a little dirt road or into your own drive way you must use your turn signals! I don’t care if there is no one behind or near you use your turn signals. Using your turn signals constantly will make it so using them becomes a habit and you will forget to use them less. Over 45 % of drivers either neglect the usage of their turn signals and 25% just forget to use them! This means that 2 billion drivers don’t use their turn signals daily! That’s a stupid reason to get into a car crash and possibly cripple or kill your self out of laziness or a bad habit.

New Movies

Five new great movies have hit theaters in the past two weeks and all of them are worth seeing! First off we have “Hunger Games” based off a book series with a running time of 2hrs 22min its an amazing plot and story line that keeps you enthralled and entertained the whole time its running!


Next up is “Wrath of the Titans” an exciting sequel to the movie “Clash of the Titans” based off of legends of a Demi-God named Perseus and his battles and adventures with Medusa and other mythical greek creatures. This is a fast paced film that keeps you sitting on the edge of your seat as Perseus battles fierce creature.

Then we have a hilarious comedy called “21 Jump Street” a funny new movie based off the 1980s-90s TV show about an under cover cop that busts teens and criminals through entering a public school system as an everyday teenager.

Finally we have “Titanic 3D” an epic romance story based off the sinking of the R.M.S. This is a classic film that has been re-done in stunning 3D and will be as amazing as it was when it first came out in 1997.
